Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director, Contracts to lead a team of contract professionals. As a key member of the Integrated Vision Solutions (IVS) sector leadership team, you will shape contract strategy, manage risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements—protecting company interests while enabling growth. You will collaborate across functions to influence contract practices and drive operational improvements. With deep expertise in UCC, FAR, international and commercial contracting, and government procurement, you will help align business decisions with customer requirements and financial imperatives. This role leads an organization who manages complex contracts critical to achieving financial goals, including orders, revenue, operating income, and cash flow, while continuously improving systems and processes to deliver measurable results.
Essential Functions:
- Lead a team of contract professionals and provide direction for assigned contracts and programs.
- Serve as a key member of the IVS sector leadership team, representing contract matters across the business.
- Act as the primary liaison between L3Harris and customers, maintaining strong relationships and communication.
- Review RFPs, assess risk, prepare proposals, and negotiate contracts with commercial and US Government customers.
- Ensure contract acquisition and fulfillment align with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
- Analyze material estimates, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules for accuracy and completeness in both proposals and EACs
- Conduct change management and communicate equitable adjustment rights to customers.
- Utilize contract management systems to record awards, modifications, and maintain historical contract data.
- Advise management on contractual rights, obligations, and potential risks.
- Prepare, process, and present specifications, progress reports, and other required documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline operations, and implement business improvements.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Build effective relationships across teams and foster collaboration to achieve business objectives.
- Clearly present information to management and broad audiences, supporting informed decision-making.
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 15 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 13 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- In depth knowledge of contract lifecycle management: RFP review, proposal preparation, negotiation, and administration.
- Experience with both commercial and gov’t contracts.
- Understanding of FAR, DFARS, UCC.
- Understanding of revenue recognition, pricing strategies, and financial impact of contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills for commercial and government contracts
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead, engage, and inspire high-performing operations teams.
- Demonstrated success in leading organizational growth, establishing strategies, and driving scalable process improvements.
- Expertise in developing and implementing team performance measures and metrics.
- Highly adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel as needed

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $159,500 - $296,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $138,500 - $257,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
