Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Inspector to lead our QA department for Part 121 operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and safety management. This role is critical to ensuring that our operations meet all FAA regulations and industry standards, maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Quality Assurance department, including hiring, training, and evaluating QA staff.

Develop and implement QA policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with FAA Part 121 regulations.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety within the organization.

 

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure that all operations comply with FAA regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Serve as the primary point of contact for FAA audits and inspections.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure the organization adapts accordingly.

 

Quality Assurance Programs:

Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive QA programs, including internal audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.

Oversee the analysis of audit findings, ensuring timely and effective resolution of any issues.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of QA programs and make necessary adjustments.

 

Safety Management:

Collaborate with the Safety Management System (SMS) team to integrate QA activities with safety initiatives.

Ensure that safety risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated through effective QA processes.

Promote a proactive approach to safety and quality throughout the organization.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect, analyze, and report on QA data to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Develop and maintain QA metrics and performance indicators.

Prepare and present QA reports to regulatory authorities and company leadership.

 

Training and Development:

Develop and deliver QA training programs for staff at all levels of the organization.

Ensure that all personnel are knowledgeable about QA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Promote professional development and continuous learning within the QA team.

 

Required Qualifications:

Active Top Secret Clearance required (SCI preferred, must be complete by program start)

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.  In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. A degree in Aviation Management or a related field preferred.

Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required (IA designation a preferred)

Demonstrated maintenance experience on different types of large aircraft airframes with 10 or more passenger seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station (121, 125, 135, or 145) 1 year of which must have been as maintenance inspector.

Demonstrated experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses.

Demonstrated experience managing quality assurance for an aircraft fleet of large aircraft (more than one aircraft type)

 

Working Conditions:

The Chief Inspector will be expected to work in both office and operational environments, maintaining a strong presence across all areas of the organization.
