Job Description:

 

The Logistics Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the supply chain operations, including the acquisition, distribution, and delivery of goods and services. This role ensures that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization’s operations.

 

Essential Functions:

·        Supply Chain Management: Plan, implement, and oversee the supply chain operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.

·        Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply without overstocking. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

·        Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms to ensure the best value for the organization.

·        Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods. Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.

·        Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

·        Compliance: Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

·        Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics activities. Prepare reports and documentation as required.

·        Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or disruptions in the supply chain. Implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

·        Technology Utilization: Utilize logistics software and tools to manage and track logistics operations. Stay updated with new technologies and best practices in logistics management.

·        Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including procurement, production, and sales, to align logistics activities with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

·        Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., SAP, BSI, APICS, CSCP, CLTD) are a plus.

·        Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

·        Skills:

o   Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.

o   Proficiency in using logistics software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, WMS).

o   Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

o   Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

o   Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

o   Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

o   Certifications: Relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.

o   Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environments, including office settings and warehouses. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
