Job Description:

 

The Mission Communication Systems (MCS) Field Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft mission communication systems. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and comply with aviation regulations and standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect and maintain ground support equipment. Update, support, and implement changes and reviews of program Technical Publications, Service Bulletins, and Service Letters to program aircraft.
  • Utilize engineering drawings and vendor manuals to resolve user concerns which are not covered in Technical Publications.
  • Supporting secure communication devices, to include HAIPE, KIV-7, and KY-100.
  • Utilize a wide range of test equipment to include spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, and network analyzers.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and avionics systems.
  • Troubleshooting maintenance and operational problems; then quickly and accurately resolve situations.
  • Must also be familiar with troubleshooting techniques for a wide range of electronic communications components for both RF and digital systems to isolate and resolve faults.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts and alternate with co-workers on weekend and holiday standby in support of maintenance and operations on program aircraft.
  • Minimal travel up to 5%.
  • Proficient in Windows, Linux, and Microsoft Office and possess basic networking skills.
  • Excellent customer presentation skills as well as exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for direct dealing with the customer, contractor partners, and sub-contractors.
  • Must be available for on-call support 24/7.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of experience in Avionics network, and communication systems.
  • Graduate degree with four (4) years of experience in Avionics network, and communication systems.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of experience in Avionics network, and communication systems.
  • Must have an Active Top-Secret Clearance at the time of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
