Job Description:

Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for our Huntsville, AL Headquarters location. The Sr. Specialist Project Engineer role involves performing and/or coordinating propulsion program tasks in conjunction with program management. Under general direction, you will be responsible for implementing design and analysis tasks and overseeing special studies and experiments. Additionally, you will coordinate ballistic, thermal, and structural analyses, as well as perform post-test examination, analyses, and reporting while supporting the program technical lead.

Essential Functions:

• Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.
• Read, interpret, and write specifications and technical documents.
• Prepare technical and design requirements in support of project goals.
• Keep current in relevant technologies and methods in support of project assignments.
• Provide direction in problem investigations and resolution across functional areas.
• Understanding and/or leads Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
• May be assigned Earned Value Management duties.
• Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Four (4) or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects is highly desired.
• CAD knowledge is desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non-technical professionals at all levels inside and outside of the organization
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, in a collaborative, dynamic and multi-disciplinary environment
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to maintain attention to Detail
• Strong knowledge of the Project Engineer function
