Job Description:
The Strategy Lead for the Missile Solutions sector is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive growth and competitive advantage. This role involves deep market analysis, identification of new business opportunities, and the formulation of long-term strategic plans. The Strategy Lead will work closely with senior leadership to align the Missile Solutions portfolio with customer needs and market trends.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the development of the sector's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and the broader defense market.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends, potential growth areas, and competitive threats within the missile solutions domain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and program management, to assess technology and product development opportunities.
- Develop business cases for investment in new projects, technologies, or partnerships, and present recommendations to senior leadership.
- Monitor the market landscape and its implications on defense spending and priorities.
- Engage with customers, industry partners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and shape the sector's offerings.
- Support merger and acquisition (M&A) activities by evaluating potential targets and contributing to due diligence efforts.
- Facilitate strategic planning workshops and leadership offsites to refine strategic objectives and initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to deliver executive-level presentation materials in support of senior executive meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Track the execution of strategic projects and initiatives, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic thinking.
- Travel: 20%
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior business development experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior business development experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior business development experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Significant experience in strategic planning, business development, or a related function within the defense industry.
- Advanced business knowledge and highest level of technical mastery in functional area is preferred.
- Leadership capability to guide business or functional teams without formal management role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the aerospace & defense market, including technologies, competitors, and government procurement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically, with a track record of executing strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage at the executive level.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $129,000 - $240,000. For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $148,500 - $275,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
