L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Associate, Production Planning to join our growing team at the Missile Solutions Segment Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) located in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will be part of our Scheduling and Material Planning organization, which plays a key role from proposal through product delivery across the company. We are looking for a highly analytical, self‑motivated, and organized individual with strong decision‑making skills and the ability to assess requirements and make data‑driven decisions. This role operates in a dynamic environment and interfaces directly with internal and external customers across a diverse product range.
Essential Functions:
Review the Material Requirements Plan (MRP) and resolve exception messages.
Work collaboratively with the Engineering Team on the Bill of Materials (BOM), supporting activities from development through production.
Release supplier requisitions and shop orders for both BOM‑driven and independent demand requirements.
Identify and initiate program inventory surplus actions and closeout activities.
Analyze program demand, create requisitions, maintain horizontal plans or lines of balance for consumable items, initiate material transfers, create new part numbers, and perform other required tasks.
Collaborate with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) to address issues, solve problems, and develop strategies to meet customer commitments.
Travel: Up to 5% business travel to other Missile Solutions facilities and suppliers across the country; ability to work extended hours based on manufacturing needs.
Qualifications:
Requires practical knowledge of the job area.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, OR a graduate degree with 0–2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience is required.
Travel: Up to 5% business travel to other Missile Solutions facilities and suppliers across the country; ability to work extended hours based on manufacturing needs.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Technical knowledge of solid rocket propulsion, explosive and pyrotechnic devices, electromechanical actuators, and actuator control systems.
Experience with Oracle, Delmia, or Windchill.
Ability to support implementation of product design and development stage‑gate processes (design, build, and test reviews).
Ability to apply technical knowledge to evaluate plans, processes, and results within supporting teams.
Excellent communication skills, strong self‑motivation, and leadership capabilities, with the ability to interpret program management, engineering, and supplier requirements in a continuously changing environment with minimal guidance.
Working knowledge of project management methods within the defense acquisition environment, including program planning, integrated master scheduling, budgeting, and earned value management.
Experience in team building, leadership, and delegation to achieve project objectives.
Experience leading, coaching, reviewing, and critiquing the work of supporting team members to maximize program success.
Ability to define and negotiate task objectives, scope descriptions, and completion criteria for both specific and broader activities.
Proficiency with office software such as MS PowerPoint (presentations, logic diagrams), MS Project (basic scheduling), MS Excel (formulas, graphs, spreadsheets), and MS Word (tables, program plans).
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
