Job Description

L3Harris is seeking a Specialist, Quality Engineer to support the Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF‑North) in Toney, Alabama, an inert manufacturing site for composite rocket motor hardware. The Specialist supports quality initiatives by coordinating quality‑related activities, developing key metrics, dashboards, and reports, and collaborating across multiple Centers of Excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement. This role works cross-functionally to ensure product compliance and drive improvements in manufacturing and quality processes.

Essential Functions

• Use engineering knowledge to communicate with internal teams and customer counterparts to ensure hardware meets specifications.
• Manage and communicate deviations and nonconformances across the organization; understand and explain typical aerospace processes such as machining, welding, and nondestructive testing.
• Apply quality principles, concepts, and methods—including Lean and basic Six Sigma tools—to support manufacturing operations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and company quality standards to ensure compliance.
• Prepare analyses, procedures, reports, and presentations for internal and customer review; verify supplier-submitted data for completeness and accuracy.
• Interface with the Material Review Board (MRB) to provide technical input for nonconformance dispositions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related quality or engineering experience; OR Graduate Degree with 0–2 years of related experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 6 years of quality or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
