Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Program Quality Engineer to work at our state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility - AMF-South location near the airport in Huntsville, AL. AMF-South is our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of rocket motor hardware encompassed in approximately 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We are answering the call from the Department of War and are looking for a motivated professional to help achieve that goal.
The Senior Specialist, Program Quality Engineer is a senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of program/project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Customer facing individual who ensures proper knowledge transfer to all governmental agencies whole maintaining strict compliance to AS9100 rules for the business. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:
· Project Management:
o Lead and manage projects to improve inspection methods, equipment, and processes.
o Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
o Coordinate cross-functional teams for project execution.
· Inspection Methods and Equipment:
o Evaluate and implement advanced inspection technologies.
o Design robust inspection processes to ensure product quality.
o Oversee installation, calibration, and maintenance of inspection equipment.
· Process Improvement:
o Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency.
o Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
o Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inspection.
· Capital and Manpower Management:
o Prepare capital expenditure proposals for new inspection technologies.
o Manage project budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions.
o Coordinate manpower requirements and training.
· Strategic Planning:
o Align inspection strategies with long-term business objectives.
o Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
o Collaborate with senior management on strategic quality initiatives.
· Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Analyze inspection data to identify trends and improvement areas.
o Generate reports and presentations for stakeholders.
o Ensure accurate documentation of inspection results.
· Collaboration and Communication:
o Work with engineering, production, and quality teams for alignment.
o Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
o Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
· Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
o Stay updated on advancements in inspection technologies.
o Lead internal and external audits related to inspection processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Quality Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
