Job Description

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, Quality Engineering to support Advanced Manufacturing operations in Huntsville, Alabama. Working under moderate supervision, this role applies quality and data engineering principles to monitor performance, resolve routine to moderately complex manufacturing issues, and support continuous improvement efforts. The Senior Associate works independently on assigned projects, communicates process and quality requirements across functions, and contributes to operational targets that drive departmental success. This role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration, and attention to detail in a dynamic production environment.

 

Essential Functions

• Collaborate effectively within a team environment through clear communication and shared quality objectives.
• Collect, organize, and analyze quality and manufacturing data using Excel and approved analytics tools; develop reports and dashboards for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support development and maintenance of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint solutions to enhance data visibility and digital factory initiatives.
• Explain dashboards, metrics, and standard quality processes to end users; provide guidance to entry-level professionals and support personnel when assigned.
• Partner with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and other functions to improve data collection, process adherence, and reporting accuracy.
• Analyze production processes, inspection results, workflows, nonconformances, and performance data to identify causes, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Execute assigned quality improvement projects from planning through implementation; communicate progress, risks, and next steps.
• Track assigned actions, corrective actions, and cost-of-poor-quality or cost-savings measures; support reporting of results and milestone completion.
• Apply standard quality tools such as root cause analysis, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis, statistical process control, Lean, and basic Six Sigma methods to reduce waste and improve process capability.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a STEM field and 2 years of related experience; OR Graduate degree with 0–2 years of related experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 6 years of quality or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Practical experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or a related operational environment.
• Experience with data analysis, process documentation, or quality improvement methods.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Power Platform tools is beneficial.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or related quality management standards, with ability to interpret and apply procedures.

 

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with statistical process control, basic statistics, Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality tools.
• Experience developing or supporting Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint.
• Experience supporting corrective action, nonconformance management, audit readiness, process improvement, or configuration/document control.
• Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, defense, or similar regulated industries.
