Job Description:  

L3Harris is seeking a Logistics Specialist to oversee the daily movement and management of parts and inventory within a manufacturing facility.  The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing the movement of parts and materials as well as maintaining accurate inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in optimizing the supply chain to meet production schedules and customer demands. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, inventory management, and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions: 

L3Harris is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support Division specific requirements. 

This position will:

  • Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving operations.
  • Coordinate with carriers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels to support production schedules.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of parts and materials within the facility.
  • Coordinate the movement of parts to the production line in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in logistics and inventory management processes.
  • Implement process changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to logistics and inventory management
  • Ability to coordinate with local logistics teams and ensure compliance with policies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any additional clearances as required.
  • This role may require occasional lifting of materials and parts up to 32 pounds.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

 

Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and logistics software.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety, regulatory, and quality standards related to logistics and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with manufacturing software systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet production demands.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred with a minimum of 4 years of prior experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related 
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Great attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
