Job Description
The Missle Solutions Business Segment of L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our growing Huntsville, Alabama facility.

This position will work in the Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) Materials and Process Engineering Laboratory and will primarily be responsible for conducting in‑process testing of tape‑wrapped components. In addition, this role will support material acceptance testing, material shelf‑life extension testing, and inert materials characterization. The position reports to the Materials and Process Engineering AMF Laboratory Manager in Huntsville, AL.

Primary Functions
Perform testing of in‑process witness samples of tape‑wrapped components according to material specification requirements.
Operate balances, furnaces, ovens, universal test frames, and basic laboratory glassware.
Measure, record data, and perform calculations per material specification requirements.
Generate test reports.
Complete testing within required deadlines while maintaining a safe laboratory and production environment.
Test non‑metallic materials using equipment such as hot plates, hydraulic presses, autoclaves, hardness testers, and related devices.
Lay up, cure, and inspect non‑metallic materials, including resin‑impregnated woven fabrics and EPDM.
Conduct testing in accordance with industry standards (ASTM/MIL/ISO), standard work documents, and custom work requests.
Support non‑conformance investigations for production and development programs by performing relevant testing and communicating results.
Communicate effectively with members of other teams and departments to facilitate work progress.
Maintain laboratory readiness and cleanliness through 5S+1, kitting, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Additional Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience working in a laboratory environment.
Mechanical aptitude with strong problem‑solving ability.
Associate’s degree in a technical field.
