Job Description:
The Manufacturing Technician C (Laser Assembly Technician) will focus on Laser Transmitter manufacturing and works within a cleanroom environment performing day-to-day operational needs of the business. This position installs, aligns, and operates laser transmitters and components. He/ She assists in the build techniques to ensure the successful product output from the cleanroom and laser operations area.
Essential Functions:
· Develops techniques and procedures for building lasers in full rate production, generally 3 units / day
· Assembles and tests optical, mechanical and electrical subassemblies.
· Completes optical bonding, cleaning and inspection of laser units with high attention to detail.
· Builds wiring harness, solders and performs PCB assembly of electrical and electrooptical subassemblies.
· Identifies problems and issues, resolves most issues, and makes recommendations for improvements in yield.
· Responsible for ensuring that specified quality standards are met for all tasks completed.
· Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
· Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
· Follows established processes to complete tasks
· All other assignments as required.
Qualifications:
· Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
· 5+ years contributing in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Additional Skills:
· Must be a United States Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR.
· Able to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives.
