Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Company’s Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for field support in ZJX airspace. Field technician will support FAA contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS and any other FSG programs. 

Essential Functions:

• Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
• Have an excellent working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexes, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
• Good working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC power supplies.
• Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards.
• Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment:  JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets.
• IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches

• Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
• Travel to FAA site locations within a 3 hour drive from Hilliard, FL area
• Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 ft.
• Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed.
• Ability to obtain a FFA Security Clearance

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
• Ability to work from home, in an “on-call” status.
• Capable of utilizing ladders, and step stools, to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
• Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
