Job Description:  

Supports the Surveillance and Automation Solutions’ (SAS) Asset Management/ Logistics team. Facilitates the movement of materials and assets in support of the Surveillance Broadcast Services System (SBSS), the world’s largest air traffic management system consisting of control stations, radio stations, service delivery points, and supporting networks. Support special projects needing concentrated oversight, guidance, and effort to maintain schedule, minimize errors and damages in materials and asset transfer, and minimize costs. Exchanges status information with O&M Director and Logistics team members. Tracks and documents all materials and assets pertaining to project throughout lifecycle.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Interface and interact daily with up to nine individual groups to receive tasking, timing, status updates, and shipping information.
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to changing and evolving projects within fast paced environments.
  • Perform physical handling and movement of materials and assets in support of project utilizing pallet jack, hand truck, or hand carrying, from first floor Shipping/Receiving room to 5th floor storage closet, and ferrying materials between groups.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Receiving materials and assets (capturing all serial numbers and asset tags) into asset management tool.
  • Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of logistics resources from sources of supply to the user.
  • Ensure proper “movement” of tagged assets between electronic tracking systems (SH!P tool, PTC Windchill database, FedEx label system).
  • Utilize barcode scanner to capture serial numbers and asset tags of every box and item.
  • Perform data entry into SH!P tool and asset management tool (Windchill PTC).
  • Coordinate all product shipments to meet maintenance schedules.
  • Daily review of maintenance schedule; Produce and provide two weeks’ advance scheduling of asset shipping.
  • Works with other members of the team to generate creative and innovative solutions to issues.
  • Create system queries to collect and analyze data pertaining to request processing times, order ship times, receipt processing times and design reports, including graphs, tables and charts representing findings
  • Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust Clearance

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

 Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in Logistics, Asset Management, Project Management, or materials transfer experience desired.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with using all programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently after interfacing with multiple groups to acquire status updates and daily tasking.
  • Familiarity with Windchill asset management tool; Or any similar asset management tool or database.
  • Experience with U.S. customs laws and regulations, including classification, valuation, origin, record keeping, and compliance monitoring knowledge of international consolidation operations and international transportation desired.
