Job Description:
The Surveillance & Automation Solutions team is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Surveillance Broadcast Services software team in providing modern, secure, reliable and resilient surveillance systems. Join the team developing critical communication capabilities for air traffic control, air-to-ground data communication, secure access to situational awareness data and secure information sharing.
Essential Functions:
- Software development in C / C++ / Python.
- Familiarity with software patterns and/or modern design methodology.
- Object-Oriented Design and Analysis.
- Familiarity with software lifecycle, including Agile development.
- Multi-threading skills for concurrent/asynchronous programming.
- Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
- Exposure to testing framework - Robot Test Framework.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related science or engineering field.
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Requires a minimum of 6 years of system life-cycle development experience with aerospace and telecommunication systems including system design, development, integration, analysis, and verification.
- Proof of US citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain an FAA Position of Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Software development/maintenance experience.
- Experience with ADS-B systems & RTCA DO-278 standards.
- Windows/ Linux OS experience.
- Hardware communications interface experience.
- GUI design and development experience.
- Multi-threading and concurrent programming skills.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Washington DC is $97,000 - $180,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
