Job Description: 

Are you ready to build game-changing capabilities for L3Harris?  We are looking for Modeling and Simulation software engineer interns to join our diverse team within the Mission Analysis Group (MAG).  The selected Modeling and Simulation Analysts will work in a fast-paced environment with a geographically dispersed team to analyze and assess the mission impacts of new technologies and products across multiple domains and for a variety of customers. Individuals will work in a collaborative environment and work significantly diverse assignments across domains and technologies. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target modeling and simulation application 

  • Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of modeling and simulation software 

  • Support digital engineering efforts to integrate system performance and behaviors into operational analysis 

  • Participate in mission-level modeling and simulation studies to assess system performance, inform design trades, and evaluate overall effectiveness 

  • Integrate high-fidelity models AFSIM 

  • Support programs and pursuits by creating models, simulations, and analysis products 

  • Develop new models and processes, enhance current tool capabilities, and perform analyses 

  • Support the development of technological concepts which improve system performance and mission capabilities 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, OR, 2+ years of prior related experience with a Graduate Degree.

 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Master’s Degree or relevant coursework in Systems Engineering or closely related field 

  • Experience in supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis space and air domain related problems 

  • Experience with Cameo, AFSIM, STK, MATLAB, Python, Java 

  • Top Secret clearance highly desired 

  • Experience developing plug-ins for AFSIM in C++ 

  • AI/ML experience 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the Greater D.C is $79,000 - $146,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
