Job Description:
Develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers. Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems. Develops manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes. Actively participates with engineering project teams in order to coordinate the release of new products. Estimates and tracks manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions:
- Solve manufacturing problems with innovative solutions.
- Own continuous improvement in our processes and documentation on multiple production programs
- Support transition from engineering development to manufacturing.
- Investigate and implement alternate/new manufacturing processes and technologies to help continuously improve our processes.
- Provide key technical input on all product designs for manufacturing ease and cost considerations. This includes analyzing different design approaches and manufacturing methods.
- Examine early assembly prototyping/testing to provide feedback in the designprocess.
- Create assembly instructions and routings.
- Review and approve drawings for the Manufacturing Department
- Communicate information between the design and manufacturing teams, and ensure that design feedback from manufacturing is relayed to engineering.
- Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives in the organization such as 5S, tool Control, etc.
Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of manufacturing methods, specifically in soldering and electronics assembly.
- Experience with technical writing, specifically work instructions and process documentation.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Experience with 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing
- Experience with EXCEL and data analytics
- Experience/certification in lean practices; 5S, six sigma, etc.
- Experience with soldering, fiber optics, and IPC/MIL standards
- Experience with MRP systems such as SAP/Oracle
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $67,000-124,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
