About the role

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the SATCOM Through Life Support program within L3Harris Communications Australia (L3HCA).

 

You will be accountable for the successful delivery of Defence sustainment services to the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA), ensuring contractual, financial, and operational outcomes are achieved. This role owns program execution, stakeholder relationships (including CoA and L3Harris US), and overall program performance.

 

Working across engineering, logistics, finance, and contracts, you will ensure the program is well-governed, appropriately resourced, and positioned for ongoing success. You will drive performance through clear reporting, effective planning, and strong cross-functional coordination.

 

Reporting to the Services Delivery Manager within the PMO, this role is critical to delivering a high-performing, compliant, and sustainable Defence program.

 

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Own program performance across cost, revenue, schedule, quality, and delivery outcomes
  • Plan and allocate work packages across engineering, logistics, maintenance, training, and contract resources
  • Manage program delivery in line with the Statement of Work, CDRLs, and CSRLs
  • Lead and coordinate key stakeholders, including subcontractors, ensuring alignment on scope, processes, and timelines
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, CoA expectations, L3HCA policies, TRF, and quality standards
  • Act as the primary interface between L3HCA, the Commonwealth of Australia, and subcontractors
  • Provide advice to the CoA on program-related products, services, and equipment
  • Deliver clear reporting on program status, risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal functional leaders to ensure consistent and effective service delivery
  • Represent L3HCA in contractual matters, including changes and extensions with CoA and L3Harris US

 

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Defence sustainment program or project management within the Commonwealth of Australia environment
  • Strong experience in CASG Performance-Based Contract Management (5+ years)
  • Solid understanding of supply chain, logistics, and maintenance/repair operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver against KPIs and contractual obligations
  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles and stakeholder engagement
  • Current Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1 / SECRET minimum)
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Management, or a related discipline (MBA desirable)
