Job Description:
The Sr Specialist, Systems Engineer position is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and analyze system requirements, derive specifications, and manage requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
- Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses to evaluate system design options.
- Understand system architectures and interface designs, ensuring cohesive integration of subsystems.
- Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
- Perform system and subsystem troubleshooting to a subcomponent level.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Identify and resolve system integration issues, ensuring system functionality and performance meet requirements.
- Perform verification and validation of systems and subsystems to ensure compliance with design specifications and customer requirements.
- Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
- Working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
- Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft.
- Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware.
- Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
- Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose, and systems engineering trade study process.
- Writing subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
- Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Visio, Doors, JIRA.
- Understands and applied the Systems Engineering V-model.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of supporting the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
- Graduate Degree with two (2) years of supporting the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of supporting the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
- Active Secret at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Active Top Secret with SCI.
