Job Description:
The Sr. Subcontract Specialist will be responsible for managing complex projects or processes with general oversight. They will communicate within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. The Sr. Subcontracts Specialist will make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. They will contribute to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:

- Work is performed with general oversight.
- May manage large projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area.
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees.
- Manage complex projects at this level, involving delegation of work and review of work products.
- Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area.
- Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
- Work to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results.
- Contribute to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).
- Preparing, reviewing and managing Supplier Statements of Work.
- Must have SAP experience and be able to troubleshoot within SAP.
- Negotiation expertise in both cost and terms and conditions is critical.
- FAR and DFAR’s understanding is a must.
- Negotiates supplier statements of work.
- Tailor, and negotiate terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of experience in Procurement and/or Subcontracts with highly complex multi-year high dollar subcontracts.
- Graduate Degree with four (4) years of experience in Procurement and/or Subcontracts with highly complex multi-year high dollar subcontracts.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in Procurement and/or Subcontracts with highly complex multi-year high dollar subcontracts.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
