Job Description:

The Sr Specialist, Systems Engineer position is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms

 

Essential Functions:

  • Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
  • Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
  • Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
  • Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
  • Perform requirement traceability.
  • Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
  • Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
  • Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware.
  • RF distribution systems including RF down-converting, up-converting, transceivers, non-blocking switching, and electrically matched distribution architectures.
  • Troubleshooting and multi-level testing for RF applications.
  • Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose.
  • Writing subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
  • Conducting verification testing.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communications skills.
  • Working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
  • Developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans.
  • Willingness to travel (25%).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of experience with physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Master’s Degree with four (4) years of experience with physical architecture incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of experience with physical architecture incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Must have an active Secret at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
