Job Description:

The Sr. Specialist, Technical Writer is responsible for gathering, composing, and editing technical information to prepare flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation for our warfighters. The Technical Publications team is a group of professionals committed to providing quality and timely publication deliverables for commercial and government projects in a dynamic environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Authoring and/or Generating content for illustrated parts such as catalogs, maintenance manuals, flight operation, mission systems, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents, in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker environment or other authoring software for commercial and or Air Force, Army, or Navy programs.
  • Working within and potentially lead defined budgets.
  • Meeting scheduled deadlines.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of VIPSAM Mission Systems.
  • Working knowledge of 747/757 Boeing airframes and avionics.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of prior experience Authoring and/or Generating content for illustrated parts such as catalogs, maintenance manuals, flight operation, mission systems, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents, in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker environment or other authoring software for commercial and or Air Force, Army, or Navy programs.
  • Graduate Degree with four (4) years of prior experience Authoring and/or Generating content for illustrated parts such as catalogs, maintenance manuals, flight operation, mission systems, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents, in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker environment or other authoring software for commercial and or Air Force, Army, or Navy programs.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of prior experience Authoring and/or Generating content for illustrated parts such as catalogs, maintenance manuals, flight operation, mission systems, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents, in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker environment or other authoring software for commercial and or Air Force, Army, or Navy programs.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
