Job Description:
Technical Publications is a unified team of professionals committed to providing quality and timely publication deliverables for commercial and government projects in a dynamic environment. Team members are responsible for gathering, composing, and editing technical information to prepare flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation for our warfighters.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance with SCIF access.
- Prior experience authoring Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), technical maintenance manuals, Flight Operation Manuals, and in an S1000D environment for Air Force programs.
- Working knowledge of or experience with Rivet Joint/Cobra Ball/Combat Sent Mission system architecture and mission profile.
- Working knowledge of KC-135 or RC-135 aircraft systems and operations
- Interpret engineering drawings, wire lists, schematics, hardware specifications, software requirements specifications, software interface control documents, test procedures.
- Conduct interviews with engineering personnel to ensure the technical documentation is precise, comprehensive, and meets professional/MIL standards.
- Works under general supervision and may be responsible for entire programs.
- Strong computer skills with solid understanding of MS Office Suite and applications.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 2 years technical publication authoring experience within structured authoring environments to include Unstructured and/or Structured FrameMaker.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Familiarity with S1000D Standard, Webex, and Localized CSDB desired.
- Works well with colleagues, internal customers, and external customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
