Job Description:
Will be involved in developing, maintaining, integrating, and managing ground ISR systems, networks, and system storage devices. Will be a part of a talented team of engineers who collectively demonstrate excellent technical competence, reliability in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security. This position combines an understanding of both software engineering and systems engineering. Will work with various departments to manage and develop ISR ground systems within L3Harris. Will work primarily with existing infrastructure and involves world-wide travel for regular updates at all field locations. Requires the ability to speak technically to coworkers in development positions as well as at a higher level to both management and customer representatives. Requires the candidate to balance various aspects of a project, most of them complex issues such as re-architecting software design for existing issues and designing for the future.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain/maintain DoW TS/SCI Clearance.
- Ability to identify and find solutions for defects and mitigate risk.
- Able to multi-task on numerous and varied system projects simultaneously.
- Ability to test and troubleshoot multiple operating systems. Windows, Linux and familiarity with L3 Engineering tools such as ARDB, DOORS, LTS, EEST, SCMS and ESENTRY.
- Basic understanding of how software works in conjunction with hardware interdependencies.
- Understanding of RC135 platform, CI, MSI, and flight line stages.
- Communicate technical information to/with developers to explain the requirements when needed.
- Ability to travel to meet with vendors for evaluation items with the customer requires top-tier interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel and serve as lead engineer providing subject matter expertise on major and minor baseline modifications spanning the globe (a minimum of 10% travel expected).
- Will be required to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ certification.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant engineering experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and configuring multiple operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows, Linux and familiarity with NETAPP required.
- Demonstrated understanding of how software works in conjunction with hardware interdependencies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage requirements in either DOORS or JIRA through all phases of the project.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Clear understanding of software troubleshooting process.
- Ability to solve problems using logical engineering thought process.
- Enterprise LAN knowledge.
- Current or previous CompTIA Security+ certification is highly desired.
