Job Description:
The Specialist, Systems Engineer (SE) performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and or subsystems. The Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Be a member of a diversely skilled engineering team in the design, implementation, and testing of Networking Systems.
- Must work on the facility with some limited flexibility.
Qualifications:
- Requires bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience, or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Ability to travel 10%.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in Network and Systems Support/Installation, Cisco, Dell Networking OS10, Brocade IOS, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP is highly desirable.
- Experience with LAN/WAN routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) is highly desirable.
- Experience with packet inspection tools (WireShark, TCPDump) is highly desirable.
- Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows OS is highly desirable.
- Experience with multicast routing is desired.
- Knowledge of MPLS and VPNs is desired.
- Experience with VMWare ESXi and virtual environments.
- Experience with HAIPE devices is desired.
- Ability to pass an FAA Class 3 flight physical.
