Job Description:
The Systems Engineering Specialist is responsible for supporting the requirements, design, development, test, integration, and continual health analysis of complex, specialized hardware/software MCS system.
Essential Functions:
- Translate end-user requirements into collection system settings for use on delivered systems.
- Design and development of MCS system architectures incorporating specialized equipment, user interface and recording capability.
- Design and development of data transportation systems to retrieve and disseminate data from the delivered systems.
- Perform SIL management and system integration on delivered systems.
- Analyze data from delivered systems to verify proper operation and data fidelity and to support troubleshooting/repair efforts.
- Provide reporting to the end-user to aid in the final analysis/use of the data from delivered systems.
- Provide reporting to the maintainers of the delivered systems regarding anomalies in the data.
- Maintain/monitor/operate data transportation systems.
- Maintain records relating to the operation of the delivered systems.
- Translate the requirements of the customer into system level requirements documents.
- Perform requirement traceability methods and purpose, and systems engineering trade study process.
- Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design.
- Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
- Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Conduct sub-system and system verification testing in SIL and on aircraft.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
- Develop and implement software and system test plans in a team environment.
- Experience working software development efforts.
- Basic knowledge of LINUX and LINUX network/LAN connectivity.
- Experience with DOORS, JIRA, or other Requirement’s traceability products.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
- Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
- Duties could include flying.
- Must successfully obtain Security+ Certification.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with four (4) years of Systems Engineering supporting the requirements, design, development, test, integration and continual health analysis of complex, specialized hardware/software MCS systems.
- Graduate degree with two (2) years of Systems Engineering supporting the requirements, design, development, test, integration and continual health analysis of complex, specialized hardware/software MCS systems.
- In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of Systems Engineering supporting the requirements, design, development, test, integration and continual health analysis of complex, specialized hardware/software MCS systems.
- Must successfully pass a class III flight physical.
- Must have an active Top Secret with SCI at the time of hire.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Security+ Certification.
- Active Top Secret with SCI.
