Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Software Engineering / System Integrator to support Mission System integration and support in secure DoD an DCSA accredited environments. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining mission system environments with a mix of OS and hosting solutions. Integration of the mission systems will include the install and configuration of the Operating Systems and Mission software, Infrastructure services, and Cyber Security hardening. A solid understanding of Windows administration and enterprise services is required. Understanding of Linux administration is also a plus. A candidate must be a self-starter, be able to work independently, work effectively in a diverse technical team, and could take ownership of issues through resolution.
Essential Functions:
- Windows and Linux systems deployment, upgrades, configuration management, patching and maintenance
- Conforming to Windows and Linux systems security standards (RMF, DISA, CMMC, DFARS, NISPOM)
- Installation and hardening of enterprise services and integrated software systems
- Managing User Access and Group Policy of Windows stand alone and Active Directory Domain systems
- Backup and recovery of Windows based systems
- Technical writing of work instructions and build manuals
- On site (not fully remote) position
Qualifications:
- Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience OR Master’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Operating systems deployment, upgrades, configuration management, patching and maintenance
- Windows infrastructure services such as Active Directory, GPO, DHCS, Anti-Virus, DNS
- Operating systems administration activities for Windows and Linux
- Familiarization with virtual technologies, preferably Windows Hyper-V
- Familiar with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) techniques
- Disk imaging tools
- Configuration Management tools
- Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, PHP)
- Understanding of Network administration (e.g., switches, firewalls, routing, DMZs)
- Tracking and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Security standards such NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, DISA STIGS, Nessus audit files
- Industry certifications in Windows and Cybersecurity related areas (e.g., Security+)
