Job Description: The Quality Engineer for Nondestructive Inspection will be responsible for inspection of aircraft structure, components and modifications. These tasks will require the ability to work independently and may require supporting off-shift or off-site on an as needed basis.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Requires strong knowledge of NonDestructive Testing, primary method in Eddy Current 
  • Be capable of testing and obtaining NDI level 2 certifications within six months of hire date
  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique / method
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and / or supervision to trainees
  • Ability to understand the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods as used by the employer
  • Be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology
  • Have a basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Additional Skills:

  • Must haves: Nondestructive Testing training and experience meeting NAS410 requirements. Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Penetrant, Ultrasonic, Radiography.
  • A&P License or past certificated FAA repairman’s
  • MAUS / AUSS system experience
  • Meet qualification requirements for certification to NAS410 Level 2
  • Certifiable to Level 2 in four or more methods of NDI per NAS410 plus added responsibilities or other national certifications or licenses
  • Be able to obtain active Secret Clearance after employment
  • Be capable of passing DCMA 8210 physical requirements
  • Provide documented evidence of meeting NAS410 qualification requirements for level 2 certification, prior to employment
