A day in the life of the Specialist, Program Scheduler looks like:
- Develop integrated master schedules using IMP, SOW and WBS
- Capability to track / maintain schedules and identify/resolve critical path issues and network logic conflicts
- Performs schedule analysis in support of assigned programs or projects.
- Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.
- Tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts.
- Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
- Perform Critical Path Analysis, Schedule Risk Analysis, and Schedule Metric Analysis - such as BEI, CPLI, SPI, etc in support of assigned programs or projects.
- Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.
- Ensures compliance with internal program procedures and project control system guidelines.
- May lead or participate in scheduling status reviews.
- Works under general supervision.
- May be responsible for entire projects or processes within job area.
- May be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
- May manage projects at this level with responsibility for the delegation of work and the review of others' work product
- Communicates with contacts within and outside of own department and may occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.).
- Explains and interprets processes and procedures to others within and outside the job area.
- May work to justify and gain cooperation regarding processes, practices and procedures
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and minimum of 5 years of prior related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
- 5 years of experience Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Microsoft Project experience preferred)
Preferred Skills:
- Some understanding of basic earned value analysis ideal.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills, self-motivated to learn quickly, assertive, and posses a positive attitude
