Job Description:

The Human Factors Engineer position will develop human factors related system requirements at the systems requirements documents and system specification level. Will develop workflow and workload analysis models to include human reliability. Will develop operational scenarios and perform operator task analysis as applicable to the human factors domain. Will perform analysis of situational awareness, assess human-machine interface and perform human factors hazard assessments and related risk assessments. Will develop human factors test and evaluation plans as well as human factors style guides.


Essential Functions:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and additional security background checks as required
  • Strong working knowledge of ergonomics and anthropometry and the ability to write and manage coherent human factors management and integration plans
  • Ability to perform human factors and system safety engineering related to large scale design development programs
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-1472
  • Ability to translate system requirements into functional requirements
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Able to work independently or in a team
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% when required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human factors/industrial engineering or related technical/engineering and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be a US citizen

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Aircraft platform experience
  • Pilot experience
  • Reliability and maintainability modeling skills
  • FMECA experience
  • Human Factors modeling and simulation experience
  • Working knowledge of PTC WindChill (Relex/Releyence)
  • Working knowledge of Airworthiness Certification
