Job Description:
The Sustainment Electrical Engineer Specialist will be involved in technical coordination for modification, maintenance, and repair of aircraft electrical systems, electro-mechanical systems, and including equipment installations. The engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of electrical analysis for application to integrated system design, maintenance, and repair while maintaining awareness of program considerations.
Essential Functions:
- Support in the transition from engineering design to manufacturing, assembly, and aircraft installation of designed products.
- Application of principles supporting aircraft life cycle maintenance (repair, rework and designing replacement parts).
- Work competency on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
- Proactive and regular in-person and electronic coordination, meetings, and interactions with many diverse organizations (aircraft mechanics, manufacturing, program management, customer representatives, OEM, vendors, and other engineering disciplines) to facilitate tailored engineering repair or replacement solutions on various aircraft platforms.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Overtime or off-shift work may be required to support program needs. This includes weekends, nights, and on-call.
- Must be able to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar and manufacturing environment, board/exit aircraft, to include accessing and maneuvering in restricted/limited spaces such as aircraft wing and body fuel tanks, and walking on wings and fuselage (with appropriate safety gear).
- Exhibit maturity, technical proficiency, work ethic, and team leadership traits respective to the job level applied for. Willing to actively mentor and train junior engineers.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of technical experience in aircraft depot repair, aircraft maintenance, or component manufacturing environment.
- Graduate Degree with (2) years of technical experience in aircraft depot repair, aircraft maintenance, or component manufacturing environment.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of technical experience in aircraft depot repair, aircraft maintenance, or component manufacturing environment.
- Must have an active Secret Clearance at the time of hire.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Adequate proficiency in MS Access / MS Excel / MS Visual Basic.
- Willing to travel, if necessary.
- Motivated individuals with strong analytic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to program and learn programming languages, able to generate VBA code and database algorithms adequate to support analysis needs of our team (ex. MS Access, MS Excel, SQL Server, Oracle).
- Design, develop and maintenance of scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience as a self-motivated data analyst.
