Job Description:
The Electrical Engineering Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on military/commercial aircraft and ground stations.
Essential Functions:
- Create and review system wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, control panels and other items using CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools, such as Capital Harness or NX.
- Research and preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of design activities with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
- Lead a small team of electrical design engineers to implement electronic subsystems by breaking down requirements and work packages, providing drawing status, and budget estimates to platform leads.
- Train and mentor junior engineers.
- Learn and become familiar with L3Harris Technical Process Specifications and related design practices and methodologies.
- Designs can include development of Avionics Systems, RF, LAN, Data Processing, Sensor Systems, Power Distribution Systems, Electrical Loads analysis, Load shedding scheme to name a few, along with the opportunity to support testing and integration of systems on the aircraft.
- Can work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
- Must be able to travel to and from flight line and work in aircraft hangar environments (some positions will require the ability to board/exit aircraft)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
- Graduate Degree with two (2) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of design and developing electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on Military and/or commercial aircraft and ground stations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Secret Clearance or higher.
