Job Description:

 

L3Harris Majors Field is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in support of Department of Defense and national programs. Duties for successful candidates include, but are not limited to, reviewing and developing information system security documentation, performing system and network self-inspections and audits, identifying information system vulnerabilities and implementing countermeasures, and maintaining information system security records. The ISSO will interact with customers when changes occur that may affect system authorization and compliance, assist the Information System Security Manager/Alternate Information System Security Manager (ISSM/AISSM) in policy creation and updates, and provide assistance on information system security issues that may affect the mission of the customer. The ISSO shall also play a key role in conducting audits and continuous monitoring of information systems to proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Maintain the operational security posture for programs and information systems.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Assessment and Authorization packages, and other documentation to support Information System accreditation.
  • Ensure all Information System (IS) security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals; and ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies).
  • Manage Plans of Action & Milestones (POAMs) against accredited information systems to remediate or mitigate identified security weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain a directorate focused information systems security program to ensure compliance of Information Technology (IT) assets with accreditation requirements specified under Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Assessment and Authorization Guide (DAAG), Intelligence Community (IC), and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • The selected candidate will serve as a member of a diverse security team, participating in the Security Configuration Control Board (CCB) and multiple security-focused working groups including Industrial & Cybersecurity, ISSO, and ISSM.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) I certification (Security+)
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53, and 32 CFR (NISPOM).
  • Familiarity with personnel security and physical security accreditation
  • Familiarity with applicable Intelligence Community (IC), and DoD policies, procedures, and operating instruction related to Information Technology (IT), and Information Assurance (IA).

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience with Elastic Stack (ELK), Splunk, or other industry Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Experience with Nessus/Tenable Security Center (SC).
  • Experience with network and information systems at varying classification levels.
  • Familiarity with system architectures, to include Wide Area Network/Local Area Network (WAN/LAN) design and maintenance, controlled interfaces, etc.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux client/server security administration and the underlying technologies such as Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and the security subsystem (Identification, Authentication, and Authorization (IA&A).
