Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Systems Engineer with 6 or more years of relevant experience to support the design, development, integration, test, and sustainment of advanced capabilities. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in systems engineering, practical domain experience, and the ability to lead technical work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires hands-on experience in systems and system-level engineering activities, including requirements development, architecture definition, interface management, integration, verification, and technical analysis. Preferred candidates will also have direct experience applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML v1.6 or later, with Cameo Systems Modeler experience strongly desired.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform system engineering activities for capabilities across requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and technical baseline management.
  • Work closely with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, integrate, validate, and sustain new system functionality.
  • Develop and manage system-level requirements, interface definitions, ICDs, and support technical artifacts with clear traceability to customer needs and internal standards.
  • Conduct trade studies, technical analyses, and performance assessments to support system design decisions and risk reduction.
  • Support development and maintenance of system and MBSE artifacts that improve architecture definition, interface management, verification planning, and technical documentation.
  • Plan and execute integration and test activities across laboratory, ground, and flight environments, including anomaly resolution and corrective action verification.
  • Develop test plans and procedures for specialized equipment, including anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Contribute to IRAD, technical planning, schedules, and formal design reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
  • Provide technical leadership through mentoring, cross-functional coordination, risk identification, and regular status communication to management and customers.
  • Active Secret clearance at time of hire with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Physics, or a related STEM field), and 6 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related Systems Engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated systems engineering background across requirements development, architecture definition, interface management, integration, verification, technical reviews, and lifecycle execution.
  • Experience developing technical artifacts such as system specifications, interface definitions, ICDs, verification plans, test procedures, and test cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical work, coordinate across engineering disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and communicate effectively with customers and management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory, ground, and flight integration and test activities, including data analysis, discrepancy resolution, and corrective action closure.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Direct experience supporting ELINT programs, payloads, subsystems, mission systems, or closely related RF or signal intelligence environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Strong ELINT domain experience supporting collection, processing, analysis, integration, test, or sustainment of electronic intelligence systems.
  • Experience serving as a technical lead, integrated product team lead, or lead systems engineer for cross-functional development and test efforts.
  • Hands-on experience with MBSE tools and model-based engineering workflows using SysML v1.6 or later.
  • Experience developing and maintaining specific SysML model content, including requirements models, structural model elements, and behavioral model elements.
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler to build and maintain requirements traceability, block definition and internal block views, interfaces, activities, sequences, states, and verification relationships.
  • Experience applying MBSE to support architecture development, decomposition, interface management, technical reviews, and end-to-end traceability from requirements through verification.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering practices, reusable model libraries, and model-informed review products.
  • Experience with simulation toolkit capabilities in Cameo or comparable MBSE environments is a bonus.
