Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support the integration, troubleshooting, and testing of Communication/Datalink systems and subsystems on RC 135 aircraft. In this role, you’ll be at the center of ensuring critical mission systems operate flawlessly. You’ll dive into complex communication and datalink challenges, interpret technical data to uncover issues, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement effective solutions. You’ll support system checks, upgrades, and improvements that directly impact mission success. This position may include in-flight testing, opportunities to work hands on with unique aircraft systems, and travel up to 10%.
Essential Functions:
- Integrate, test, and troubleshoot Communication/Datalink systems and subsystems on RC‑135 platforms.
- Perform diagnostics and maintenance on aircraft communications equipment, including cryptographic radios, datalinks, and ancillary mission systems.
- Read and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams, Technical Orders (TOs), schematics, and 202 data to identify issues and support engineering solutions.
- Operate and apply industry-standard RF and electronic test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, RF generators, TDRs, watt meters, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Execute system-level testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure mission readiness and compliance with operational requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, program teams, and external partners to resolve technical issues and support ongoing system improvements.
- Manage assigned projects with general oversight, applying project management principles to track progress, resources, and technical risk.
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation, test reports, and communication updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support in-flight testing as required; must maintain (or obtain) FAA Class III flight physical qualification.
- Ability to work multiple shifts as mission needs dictate.
- Travel up to 10% CONUS/OCONUS to support testing, troubleshooting, and field activities.
- Active Secret with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant integration experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related integration experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related integration experience.
- Demonstrated familiarity with industry‑standard test equipment and COTS hardware.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows‑based computer applications and COTS software tools.
- Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with mission or communications systems on military airborne or ground‑based platforms.
- Previous experience supporting Communication/Datalink systems on RC‑135 platforms.
- Background working in advanced airborne test, mission system, or integration environments.
- Experience with cryptographic communication systems and associated loading devices.
- Familiarity with mission system integration, sensor‑related communication pathways, or complex airborne communication architectures.
- 8-10 years of experience maintaining SIGINT/COMINT, mission/communications systems aboard U.S. military airborne and/or ground-based platforms.
- An active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
