Job Description:

The Scientist, Systems Engineering position is responsible for supporting the design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne ISR platforms.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Interfaces with other Systems Engineering, Flight Line Test, Product Development, and Project Engineering personnel to understand new baseline functionality.
  • Plans and executes integration testing in a Systems Integration Laboratory and on airborne and ground-based platforms.
  • Verifies and validates new baseline functionality while ensuring legacy functionality still works as intended.
  • Follows existing standards to document system testing status and anomalies with the system hardware and software.
  • Verifies fixes to anomalies. Interfaces with customer personnel to ensure their satisfaction with system performance.
  • Works with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.
  • Provides regular status updates for ongoing work efforts to keep management and customer informed.
  • Self-starting and able to work effectively in an independent and in a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent organization, communications, and presentation skills.
  • Considerable Systems or Software Engineering experience with System Interfaces.
  • Work with customer, systems engineers & system architects to meet delivery requirements.
  • Understand, write, and implement systems test plans and procedures.
  • Ability to travel as needed (10% travel expected)
  • Provide support regularly during ground and test flight events.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 12 years of prior hands-on experience with RC-135 operator interfaces and Test Director/Systems Engineering experience.
  • Graduate Degree with 10 years of prior hands-on experience with RC-135 operator interfaces and Test Director/Systems Engineering experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior hands-on experience with RC-135 operator interfaces and Test Director/Systems Engineering experience.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret with SCI.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • IBM DOORS Requirements Management Tool experience.
  • Former flying experience supporting RC-135 operations.
