Job Description:
Position is for a Quality Specialist (Quality Control Auditor). Responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to detail and assembly processes of mechanical and electrical activities. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. Interfaces with engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Serves as the primary interface to customers and supplier for quality related matters.
Leads material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities. Interfaces with hanger dock and line, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Essential Functions:
- The candidate filling this position will be responsible for conformity inspections of assemblies and detail parts to ensure compliance with design and technical data.
- Compliance audits of requirements related to company procedures, DCMA 8210.1, AS9100, and FAA regulations.
- Position has possibility of working off-shift hours/OT and/or weekends and may require up to 10% travel to off-site locations in support of program needs.
- Perform in-process audits to ensure compliance requirements of AS9100 and DCMA 8210.1 instructions.
- Perform Investigations related to customer escapes, concerns, or other significant quality issues to include root cause determinations and preventative actions.
- Candidate must have experience in Mechanical fabrication (CNC machining, sheetmetal and assembly modification)inspection to include experience with Blueprint and Technical Specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must be able to obtain US DoD security clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Intimately familiar with FAA documentation and Regulations (CFR 14).
- Must have a cooperative attitude and be able to positively interface with internal and external customer personnel.
- Experience performing conformity inspections of FAA articles.
- Must be able to complete necessary training for inclusion on the ODA Inspection Unit Member Roster and perform FAA Final Inspections.
- Composite fabrication and related plastic processes a plus.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and establishing corrective action plans.
- Familiar with DCMA 8210.1 and AS9100 requirements.
- Familiar with AS9102 First Article Inspections
- Familiar with GD&T
