Job Description: 
This Aircraft Maintenance Quality Control Auditor is responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical systems, field, and clinical data. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommend corrective action plans. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Serves as the primary interface to customers and supplier for quality related matters. 

 

Essential Functions:

  •  The candidate filling this position will be responsible for inspections of major repairs and alterations to ensure compliance with technical data and drawings.
  • Compliance audits of requirements related to company procedures, DCMA 8210.1, AS9162.  
  • Position has possibility of working off-shift hours/OT and/or weekends and may require up to 10% travel to off-site locations in support of program needs. 
  • Perform in-process audits to ensure compliance requirements of AS9162 and DCMA 8210.1 instructions.
  • Perform Investigations related to customer escapes, concerns, or other significant quality issues to include root cause determinations and preventative actions.
  • Candidate must be able to work in confined spaces such as aircraft fuel tanks, lower equipment bays, etc.
  • Shift will be 3/12 Friday - Sunday

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with the following:
  • 8 years of experience performing aircraft electrical, structural, or mechanical modifications and interpreting aircraft drawings in an MRO or heavy.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate or able to obtain in 1 year.
  • Eight years of experience related to electrical and structural modification and inspection of aircraft, aircraft components and assemblies.
  • Familiar with SAP Operating System
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and establishing corrective action plans.
  • Familiar with Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Familiar with DCMA 8210.1 and AS9162 requirements.
  • Ability to positively interface with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to obtain an Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to work in small confined spaces such as aircraft fuel tanks, lower equipment bays, etc. and operated boom and scissor lifts.
