Job Description:
The Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineer (SE) will be responsible for advising and instructing the end user on troubleshooting and repairing of aircraft and ground ISR Mission Systems modified by L3Harris. Debriefs aircrews on performance of the L3H modified mission systems and devises a troubleshooting plan to define and resolve discrepancies. Provides On-the-Job (OJT) training for the end-user and L3Harris assigned personnel. Responsible for attending all required meetings, briefings, and field training courses.
This position will train in Greenville, TX then permanently relocate to Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as forms and documentation expert for all components removed and replaced on the aircraft and ground systems.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining all ISR equipment delivered to the end user including aircraft, mission system trainer, and ground operator workstations.
- Communicates within the job site and with the PMO to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.
- Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
- Develop local checklists as applicable for assigned duties.
- Read and interpret block diagrams, wire diagrams, mechanical drawings and circuit schematics.
- Operating and maintaining strategic ISR aircraft and ground systems.
- Read and interpret electrical/electronic terminology, symbols, codes, and diagrams/schematics/drawings. Including various types of technical orders (T.O.’s).
- Use test equipment to isolate malfunctions and required tools to effect repairs.
- Work under extreme weather conditions and assist team members with various tasks when required.
- Leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
- Ability to complete tasks unsupervised in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneNote.
- Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of Aircraft Maintenance, Flightline, backshop, or flying experience.
- Master’s Degree with four (4) years of Aircraft Maintenance, Flightline, backshop, or flying experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of Aircraft Maintenance, Flightline, backshop, or flying experience.
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years ISR mission systems and subsystems experience.
- Must be able to relocate to Saudi Arabia within 120 days of accepting assignment.
- Must have an Active Secret clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Top Secret with SCI.
- Three (3) years flightline maintenance.
- Aircraft maintenance instructor.
- Working overseas with foreign customers.
- Living and/or working in the middle east.
