Job Description:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to technical management and administrative oversight of the daily activities of a team of System Safety Engineers in the development and delivery of their products. Will provide supervision, direction, guidance and mentoring in the career development of a team of multi-disciplined engineers. Will have in-depth knowledge of system safety analyses, system hazard assessments, FMECA and faulty tree analyses.
Essential Functions:
- Team technical and administrative leadership skills.
- Experience developing, monitoring, analyzing and taking action based on team operational metrics.
- Support of business development to include estimating as well as writing of subcontractor specs and statements of work, RFI/RFP responses and proposals.
- Must possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Office programs).
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Manpower forecasting.
- Possess the ability to establish and execute a MIL-STD-882 safety program that concludes with a comprehensive safety assessment.
- Possess the ability to understand the concepts of preliminary and system hazard analysis, hazard logs, fault tree analyses, environmental assessment and management, risk assessments and mitigation and occupational health hazard assessments.
- Ability to translate system requirements into functional requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Willingness and ability to travel when required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 6 months leading System Safety Engineering activities and personnel.
- Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Aircraft platform experience.
- Pilot experience.
- Reliability and maintainability modeling skills.
- FMECA experience.
- Human Factors modeling and simulation experience.
- Working knowledge of Releyence or PTC WindChill (Relex).
- Working knowledge of Airworthiness Certification.
- In-depth project management knowledge.
