Job Description:

L3Harris is currently seeking a Lead, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Software component development, implementation, and integration in Linux
  • Champions continuous improvement, process innovation, and lessons learned activities into software development process and products
  • Document software designs, practices, and development procedures
  • Write unit tests and conduct automated testing of resultant software
  • Conduct automated scanning of software and identify vulnerabilities and defects
  • Engage and lead code reviews and system design reviews
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Capable of collaborating closely with other engineers in a small team or working independently as needed
  • Manage large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance with minimal oversight or direction
  • Frequently responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees within area of expertise

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience or
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated object-oriented development experience using C++ or JAVA
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development and essentials of DevOps
  • Demonstrated experience using scripting languages such as Bash & Python
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with internal/external stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze requirements and design tradeoffs against scope, cost, and schedule constraints

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in Design Patterns and Frameworks
  • Database experience (SQL, NoSQL) design, queries, performance
  • Web service and API design (SOAP, REST, etc.)
  • Software and hardware troubleshooting background
  • Demonstrated experience with software automated test tools and frameworks
  • Multi-threaded, parallel, and/or GPU programming experience
  • Experience with deployment and maintenance of cloud environments (ex. AWS, Azure)
  • Understanding of virtualization, containerization, and hybrid computing environments
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and version control
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
