Job Description:

Aircraft Project Engineer supporting customer funded contracts for the WC-135 and TC-135 aircraft – both EPF and MITD/PDM contracts.  The Aircraft PE will support the generation of proposals as well as the technical execution for contractual efforts for 5 aircraft.   The Aircraft PE will not only work with engineering but also manufacturing, Hangar, Dock and Line (HDL) and flightline test to complete tasks and resolve issues/problems with aircraft modifications, sustainment and system testing.

  • Lead and communicate effectively with a diverse engineering and production team, consisting of multiple engineering disciplines to develop solutions that meet contractual requirements.
  • Prepare Engineering proposal briefings and support other engineering functions in the development of their bids.      
  • Review engineering bids and provide a summary review of the engineering bids to Senior Engineering management.
  • Serve as the Technical Point of Contact for the Technical Evaluation of proposals with the customer.
  • Serve as the Technical Point of Contact with the customer on executing the WC-135 and TC-135 projects.
  • Work closely with Program Office and engineering team to identify and mitigate technical risks.
  • Review and approve all technical documentation for projects.
  • Review, approve, and sign off on technical contractual deliverables to the customer.
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to the customer and senior leadership.
  • Work projects across all phases of the contract (requirements, design, manufacturing, integration and testing).

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 9 years of related experience, or a graduate degree with at least 7 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of directly related experience is required.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven experience in preparing proposals, reviewing bids, and supporting proposals through submission and customer technical evaluations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance, modification, and sustainment processes.
  • Hands-on experience with integrating and testing mission systems, including setting up and maintaining a System Integration Lab.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience managing projects across various phases, including requirements gathering, design, manufacturing, integration, and testing.
