Job Description:

 

The Lead, Program Manager is responsible for the execution of the program including cost, schedule, and technical performance. Coordinates the preparation of proposals; business plans; proposal work statements and specifications; operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as the primary customer interface for program activities and leads program meeting/reviews with the customer and executive staff. Works with the technical team to establish design concepts, evaluate technical concerns and develop solutions. Establishes execution milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules; identifies challenges, opportunity and risk across the program; such as allocation of resources or changing technical or contractual specifications. Engages in all activities to maintain continuity with all programs on a “cradle to grave” basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of program requirements and budget including Engineering, Operations/Manufacturing, Contracts, Finance, Quality, Security, etc.
  • Reviews potential changes in contract scope and advise management and customer of the impact
  • Brief customer, user, and upper management on all facets of the assigned projects
  • Direct the work of functional employees in the execution of the assigned projects while establishing and monitoring performance to schedules, plans and milestones
  • Respond to the customer's needs and be able to respond to quick reaction needs. As required, support request/coordination outside of normal business hours
  • Lead teams in the execution of contracts, proposals, and pursuits.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology and tools to plan and execute programs, including identification and mitigation of cost, schedule, and technical risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of applicable experience. An equivalent of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in Commercial and Military Aviation/Aerospace products development and production
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of manpower planning, milestone scheduling, PM tools, and related financial management.
  • Experience with SAP and material processes is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System
  • Drives metrics and identifies trends.
  • Compliance with and execution of policies, procedures and processes.
  • Continuous improvement effort through all phases of program execution
