Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead, Network Systems Engineer that will lead a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, integration, and troubleshooting of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms

 

Essential Functions:

  • Design and develop physical and logical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
  • Designs and maintains networks (both LAN & WAN) connecting airborne and ground systems via terrestrial and BLOS (Beyond Line of Sight) circuits
  • Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements
  • Perform requirement traceability methods and purpose
  • Perform systems engineering trade studies
  • Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design
  • Review and evaluate diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
  • Develop and execute network test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical network information to non-technical professionals
  • Lead a team, with multiple disciplines of engineering, to design a cohesive creditable multiple security domain network, and integrate the resulting design in a MILSTD based development environment

 

Qualifications:  

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Telecommunications, etc.) and a minimum of 9 years of applicable experience
  • Expert knowledge and experience in network (LAN/WAN) design incorporating industry standard security best practices; NIST framework
  • Expert network engineering experience including IP addressing, switching and routing, VLANs, VPNs, video teleconferencing, VoIP telephony, and LANs/WANs
  • Expert in routing protocols including RIP, EGIRP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Certification and Accreditation process and implementation of systems that achieved an Authorization to Operate on government networks
  • DODAF knowledge
  • Configuration, integration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, voice, and video teleconferencing equipment
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
  • Experience developing, authoring, and implementing software and system test plans in a team environment
  • Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead small test teams through an entire build cycle
  • Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware
  • Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
  • Current Top Secret security clearance
  • Experience with Kubernetes deployment/administration
  • Experience with SATCOM solutions/protocols
  • Experience with HAIPE devices is also a plus
  • RedHat Enterprise: Linux
  • Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers
  • Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and implementation of systems that achieved an Authorization to Operate (ATO) on government networks DODAF knowledge
  • Experience working government and/or military programs
  • Excellent written, oral communications skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Active Security Clearance - Secret or Higher
