Job Description:

The Lead, Electrical Engineer will be responsible for working within an Integrated Product Team responsible for specialized signal processing systems for a diverse customer base. This team works closely with customers to gain insight into real-world needs, priorities, and obtains operational feedback to provide the best system solutions for our users.  This position requires a highly skilled engineer interested in product innovation to design and implement complex and challenging C/ C++ DSP software solutions for the team’s products and many programsThis position requires a self-motivated team player with excellent technical and communication skills. Opportunities exist for travel if desired.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop algorithms requiring a strong mathematical background with a firm understanding of advanced modulation techniques and digital communications theory as well as Digital RF related time and frequency domain transforms, filters, convolutions, networks, and structures.
  • Convert algorithms to real-time, reusable DSP C/C++ code that is compliant with an existing system architecture.
  • Integrate developed DSP software into system architecture and code base.
  • Optimize software to meet processing limitations of hardware resources.
  • Ensure developed software provides solution that performs in the customer’s operational environment. 
  • Collaborate with team to translate system requirements to technical specifications.
  • Ensure design and developed systems follow specifications.
  • Work closely with team members to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, as well as operational performance requirements.
  • Participate in strategic architectural and hardware decisions.
  • Strong multi-threaded programming skills.
  • Working in a Linux development environment.
  • Network socket programming.
  • Knowledge and understanding of RF and receiver concepts.
  • Software Defined Radio experience.
  • AI/ML and Shell scripting.
  • FPGA experience.
  • Experience using software configuration management tools (e.g. Git, SVN, etc.).
  • Ability to work with flexible goals or shifting priorities.
  • Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a team environment or on independent assignments.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of C/C++ development of real time digital signal processing applications experience.
  • Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of C/C++ development of real time digital signal processing applications experience. 
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of C/C++ development of real time digital signal processing applications experience.
  • Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with SCI.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Top Secret DoD Clearance.
