Job Description:

Material coordinators manage work in process within manufacturing to ensure workability to increase on time order completion in support of program milestones. Material coordinators serve as a liaison between all support organizations and manufacturing.

Professional with broad theoretical job knowledge of material coordination and processes.

Works under minimal direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks.

Communicates and coordinates within own team as well as other organizations to provide solutions to problems within the supply chain.

Contributes to systems and process changes in work routines.

Works to achieve operational targets that impact team results.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed to achieve milestone completions.
  • Coordinate the production and/or purchase of components to support the master production schedule, shop work load and inventory requirements.
  • Utilize prior experience to identify risks and opportunities regarding material availability to ensure success of the production plan and maintain finish date integrity. 
  • Must track multiple projects with varying complexity to completion with limited supervision assistance.
  • Communicate status and needs with cross-functional teams including various internal and external customers (i.e. quality assurance, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, inventory control, etc.)
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders; stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of Material Requirements Planning experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. 
  • Requires an Active Secret Clearance
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Position requires the ability and willingness to support any shift.

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Strong communication skills
  • Extensive SAP experience
