Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Junior Personnel Security Specialist to join the Personnel Security Team and support the Collateral Industrial Security team. This position will report to the Personnel Security Manager. Responsibilities include processing employees for DoD security clearances, handling visitor notifications, reviewing foreign travel requests, and provide feedback to ensure members complete their security clearance documentation accurately and thoroughly. Additionally, this individual will support physical security, access control duties incoming/outgoing visitors, Open storage area management, document and hardware control.

The selected candidate will perform duties as part of the Personnel Security (PERSEC) team at the Greenville, TX facility.

This is an entry-level position requiring broad theoretical knowledge of the security field. The individual works under general direction and guidance within standard processes for non-routine tasks. Communicates with contacts in own team to explain and interpret information. Contributes to systems and processes changed in work routines.  Works to achieve operation targets that impact team results

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain security program policies to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations such as 32 CFR, Part 117, and other requirements for all classified programs under purview.
  • Conduct security-related employee briefings, including indoctrination, debriefings, open storage area protocols, OPSEC, Insider Threat, derivative classification, foreign travel, and routine annual security trainings.
  • Maintain records and databases related to Personnel Security Clearances and accesses.
  • Input employee/contractor information in ENVOY and create badges.
  • Maintain internal databases for classified material and open storage areas.
  • Conduct and/or participate in internal reviews and government inspections.
  • Maintain multiple Security databases, including DISS, SIMS and ITAP.
  • Gain knowledge of the Greenville guard duties as well as site protection
  • Gain knowledge of managing badging systems, alarm systems and security controls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a SECRET security clearance.
