Job Description:

The Electrical Technician will perform complex operations for assembly of developmental prototype and design verification hardware under minimum supervision. Including but not limited to, fiber optic splicing, testing, magnetics winding, soldering and urethane potting.

Essential Functions:

•       Complete tasks as directed by Engineering Management with minimum supervision. May work on assignments requiring judgment and initiative. Uses knowledge and experience to resolve issues.
•       Perform processes to complete mechanical, electrical and optical assemblies using hand tools and electric and pneumatic tooling and test equipment.
•       Handle fiber-optic operations including handling, splicing and performing optical measurements.
•       Work from drawings, manufacturing procedures, schematics and verbal instructions.
•       Wind and pot custom high voltage magnetics.
•       Support Engineering during customer site installations. Support off site acoustic testing.
•       Perform electrical soldering per J-STD-001.
•       Travel up to 30%

Qualifications:

•       Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
•       Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD U.S. Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship.
•       Capable of electrical soldering work per J-STD-001.
•       Able to read and understand drawings, schematics and manufacturing work instructions.

Preferred Additional Skills:

•       Basic understanding of Electrical Engineering fundamental concepts.
•       Solder certification to J-STD-001.
•       Experience with underwater acoustics system build and test.
•       Experience with both production and engineering build environments.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California $61,000- $113,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
