About the role
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join us in supporting the creation and review of contracted engineering outputs of a communications system upgrade, on naval assets, from project inception right through to commissioning. The Systems Engineer will need to be comfortable and confident representing the company by working with system designers and the client/customer community to provide timely and accurate engineering advice.
As one of our Systems Engineers, some of your duties will be to provide subject matter expertise and advice regarding communications design, integration and testing; Review technical documentation suitable for formal delivery to the customer; Support the scoped V&V program through aiding technical investigations, troubleshooting and system fault diagnosis; Task progress reporting to the Project Engineering Lead/Project Manager on task status, predicted completion and issue identification.
Qualifications and Experience

Demonstrated relevant experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
- Able and willing to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1

Detailed knowledge and skill in RAN maritime communications systems, specifically in radio, satellite, cryptographic equipment, networks and internal communication

Degree in Communications/Electrical/Electronics/Systems Engineering or similar
- Meet the requirements for access to ITAR controlled technology and data

Development of specifications, requirements, design, and test procedures

Knowledge of the operation of communications equipment and systems.

Understanding of Configuration Management practices and procedures.
